“we’re grateful… we get to work with brands committed to family values”
MIAMI – July 3, 2013 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – PapiBlogger will ride again! For the fourth consecutive year, PapiBlogger founder, Manny Ruiz, his wife and four kids, will take to the roads for another epic family road trip this time in partnership with State Farm and Chevy, from July 5-21.
The family’s destinations of choice this year? Beautiful Northern California, including San Francisco, Redwood National Park, Mt. Shasta and Yosemite National Park.
“For us it just doesn’t feel like summer without a major family road trip to build memories and recharge,” said Manny, who in addition to publishing his blog leads the annual Hispanicize 2014 event and the soon to launch Hispanicize Wire. “We’re grateful we get to do these wonderful trips and that we get to work with brands committed to family values like our presenting sponsor State Farm and Chevy.”
Along the way to visiting Muir Woods, Sonoma & Napa Valleys, the Redwood Coast and Mono Lake the PapiBlogger clan will be doing numerous surprise acts of kindness for complete strangers. “Being a good neighbor is what State Farm is about and it’s what we’re about so the ideas we have planned to bless people will be fun and practical,” said Manny.
The road trip will also mark a milestone for the family: it will be the first major family road trip experience for 1-year-old Naomi.
“We’re only expecting to drive about 1,300 miles so by our standards of 12,000 miles in 2010 and 10,000 miles in 2011 Baby Naomi is getting it real easy,” said Manny’s wife Angela Sustaita-Ruiz, who in addition to being the lead driver for the trip is also a managing partner of the Latina Mom Bloggers network.
The PapiMobile for this year’s journey will be a vehicle the family is very familiar with: a 2013 Chevy Traverse. In 2010, the PapiBlogger clan drove the same model 12,136 miles during 46 days and 33 states.
“The Chevy Traverse has the size, comfort, safety and technology we need to comfortably ride together for as long as we will need it,” said Manny.
A Social Media Story
In the spirit of social media storytelling, PapiBlogger will be chronicling the family’s exploits daily through the Twitter hashtag #SFRoadTrip (@PapiBlogger on Twitter), on Instagram @PapiBlogger, on Facebook and, of course, through PapiBlogger.com.
During this year’s family trip – like others past – history, geography, science and even photography will be in session for Jonathan (13), Elena (9) and Briani (4). The lessons of traveling – and enduring – together as a family are part of why the road trips have become one of the most important traditions the Ruiz family works hard to repeat every summer.
