MIAMI – April 3, 2014 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – Hispanicize 2014 and 3M will honor 20 Positive Impact Award winners during a momentous gala cohosted by award-winning NPR journalist Maria Hinojosa and nationally syndicated Univision radio host Enrique Santos. The Hispanicize Positive Impact Awards honors Latinos from across the country who have been selected for their selfless dedication to improving their communities. The awards gala will take place on April 3, 2014 at the Intercontinental Hotel Miami at 7:30 pm.
Celebrities scheduled to present include renowned Mexican-American actor Edward James Olmos, news anchor Myrka Dellanos, Charytin y Felipe host Felipe Viel, radio DJ and journalist Humberto “El Gato” Calderon, and Telemundo actor Diego Schoening. Musical acts will provide a night full of entertainment, with performances from YouTube sensation Jorge Narvaez, Latin Grammy winner Sie7e, Miami’s Afro-Cuban funk sensation Suénalo and an electrifying closing performance from Grammy-nominated artist Sheila E.
“This year’s Positive Impact awardees reflect leadership, selflessness, perseverance and resilience,” said Manny Ruiz, CEO and organizer of Hispanicize 2014. “They are true heroes whose stories can inspire us to do more to drive change and overcome some of our community’s most critical challenges.”
